In early 2021, amid record growth in the crypto industry and a maturation of the market, blockchain analysis leader Chainalysis came to Archetype with a remit to grow their visibility as an expert source of industry commentary and impartial data in the US and beyond.

With an already-established footing in the US and strong relationships with American reporters, Chainalysis’s comms team challenged Archetype to emulate that strength in other markets. Upon joining forces, we immediately began work in Australia, BeNeLux, France, Germany, Singapore, and the UK, and identified and onboarded choice partner agencies in Korea and Japan. Simultaneously, Chainalysis charged the US team with the goal to deepen the US media’s understanding of what Chainalysis—and the transparency of the blockchain—can do for the industry.

Since the partnership began in 2021, Archetype has brought on additional agency offices in Italy and Spain, and onboarded partner agencies in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and the U.A.E., helping to educate these markets’ fledgling crypto reporters and establishing Chainalysis as the go-to source for data on regional adoption and evolution of crypto. The US Archetype team continues to partner with the Chainalysis comms team to serve as the global hub for all 10+ markets, disseminating information, pitch ideas, and content to regional teams. 

With Archetype's support, Chainalysis annually releases highly anticipated reports including the Crypto Crime Report and Geography of Cryptocurrency Report. These have  become an indispensable resource for industry players and media globally, helping Chainalysis to achieve over 60% SOV against competitors, and an average of 1,500 major articles quarterly across the globe. These results have included feature stories and prominent data mentions worldwide in publications like the BBC, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Guardian, Le Figaro, The National Middle East, The New York Times, NPR’s Planet Money, Reuters, The Straits Times, The Sydney Morning Herald, and more. Chainalysis’ thought leaders have provided expert commentary on a wide range of broadcast outlets, including Bloomberg, CNBC, CNBC Asia, and Sky News.
